UN Day for South-South Cooperation
On 12 September 2024, the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) will lead the global observance of the United Nations Day for South-South Cooperation under the theme, “A Better Tomorrow with South-South Cooperation”.
The Parallel Lives Network will be hosting an event at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK. It takes place in the UN SDG16 Impact Hub between 10:00-13:00 and has two activities planned:
1. Podcast recording 10:30-11:30 with invited guests Natasha Gooneratne from Perspective South, Prof Panos Vostanis from WACIT and Affifa Shah from EBE Connect – the conversation is hosted by the PLN Founder, John Coster. 2. Networking session 12:00-13:00 – locals organisations and individuals with an existing involvement with a South project or those looking to support in the future, have been invited to meet the 3 organisations above.
South-South cooperation refers to the collaboration among countries in the Global South to address common development challenges, share knowledge, and build collective capacities
