Day 11 #16DaysOfActivism
Welcome to Day 11 of #16DaysOfActivism from across the Parallel Lives Network.
Today I interviewed Sarah Reilly, Disability Rights Advocate and Co-Founder & Director of the Women’s Research Centre.
The Women’s Research Centre, founded in September 2020, is based here at Leicester’s Doc Media Centre. It brings together social justice researchers, activists, and practitioners who are passionate about women’s rights in a global context.

I was also invited to give a talk to the latest cohort on De Montfort University’s Media Production Year 3 module about documentary filmmaking.
My talk covered the Leicester-based work we do here at the Documentary Media Centre and our international work through the Parallel Lives Network. I hope some of the students take up the invitation to visit us and also apply for the rather unique volunteering opportunity with the REALers!
They could join the REALers! Festival Team for next April’s (20th-22nd) REAL Documentary Festival based at the Phoenix Cinema, in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.
