Event: Turn Up The Volume
The Parallel Lives Network (PLN) is extremely excited to be working on a special ‘youth led’ event focused on the theme of ‘Movement’.
Off the back of the success of the World Photography Day newsroom delivered in partnership with World Awareness for Children in Trauma (WACIT) back in August, it was agreed that the PLN would support a ‘Youth’ event in partnership with the WACIT Youth Advisory Group and a local network member Kulsum Hafeji, a politics & international relations undergraduate, founder, photographer & storyteller, Colours of Leicester.
Today we officially launched ‘Turn Up The Volume’ via a live-streamed event, where we shared details of our event and how people can get involved.
‘Turn Up The Volume’ will see individuals, groups, communities and network member organisations work to create and generate content around the theme of ‘Movement’. Content can include short films, images, audio, poetry etc and will form a special 6-hour newsroom that will take place during Children’s Mental Health Week between 7th-13th February 2022.
The main aim of ‘Turn Up The Volume’ is to support individuals and grassroots organisations to have the basic skills and confidence to tell their own stories by owning and shaping their own narratives.
